Flexible Design Opportunities

Aesthetics

When it’s untinted, SageGlass looks like regular low-e glass. Tinted, our proprietary SR2 coating provides a uniform, reflective look from the exterior.

Superior Intelligence

Full Automation

Our smart windows come with our intelligent control system that tints and clears the glass based on a predictive algorithm and real-time weather data.

Control at Your Fingertips

Automation is great, but people feel better knowing they have control too. We provide this through intuitive wall touch panels and a mobile app.

BMS Integration

Our intelligence is routinely integrated with major Building Management Systems on the market, allowing for more holistic building control.

    Outboard Lite
Outboard lite can be customized with different coatings and come in different thicknesses based on project needs.
    Interlayer
An interlayer laminates our Outboard Lite to the EC Coated Lite.
    EC Coated Lite
Electrochromic layers are sputter coated onto 2.2 mm annealed glass.
    EC Coating
The electrochromic coating is comprised of multiple layers of metallic elements that can dynamically modulate the visual light transmittance (VLT) and solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of the glass by application of a small electrical charge.
    Cavity
We use a stainless steel warm edge spacer and industry-standard PIB and Silicone sealants, adding Air, Argon or Krypton based on performance needs.
    Inboard Lite
The inboard lite of the IGU can have additional Low-E coatings and laminates based on project performance needs.

    FAQs

What types of buildings are ideal for smart windows?

Smart windows have been installed on commercial buildings across a wide variety of industries.  Smart windows can be used in airports, offices, hotels and other hospitality venues, hospitals, schools and university buildings, cultural institutions and much more.  Dynamic glass is also ideal for skylight applications. Visit our case studies to learn more.

How much energy do smart windows save?

This varies based on climate zone, size of building, amount of glass, and other project-specific variables. Generally, smart class can reduce energy loads up to 15% and reduce peak energy loads up to 26%.

How do smart windows compare with traditional solar control solutions?

Smart windows, or electrochromic glass, is glazing and shading all in one. First, we could compare it to a basic solution like low-e glass plus roller shades. But this solution is manual, doesn't preserve outdoor views, and doesn't save energy—so the performance isn't exactly comparable. A closer comparison for dynamic glass would be low-e glass plus an automated mechanical shade, or exterior louvers, fins, or overhangs.

Is electrochromic glass available in shapes?

We offer rectangles, squares, parallelograms, trapezoids, and triangles. We are continuing to expand our product line, however, so email or call our Field Operations Team to explore the availability of a particular shape. Learn More

What are the health benefits associated with smart glass?

Unlike traditional shading solutions, smart windows maximize daylight in a space and maintain unobstructed views of the outdoors, providing occupants the ultimate connection to the outside world.  Research has shown that natural light and outdoor views improve happiness and well-being.  In fact, daylight and views can result in less sick leave or absenteeism, a boost in productivity, and more sleep at night.
