Pavilion on the Lake, Tavares

A lake pavilion uses SageGlass® to preserve its waterfront views, while taming the harsh Florida sun to reduce glare, minimize heat gain and save big on energy costs.

Built at the end of a 150-foot-long pier over Lake Dora, the Tavares Pavilion on the Lake offers breathtaking views for weddings, family gathers and community functions. Three sides of the 8,000 square-foot facility feature SageGlass, including the south-facing, two-story curtain wall that provides a visually dramatic backdrop to a winding staircase. Project managers selected SageGlass to control the sun’s harsh rays while providing stunning waterfront views. This dynamic, electronically tintable glass darkens or clears automatically in response to the sun’s movement, reducing the Pavilion’s cooling load and creating a unique, comfortable indoor environment for celebrations and events.

Because the Pavilion is on a lake, the glare from the bright Florida sun is compounded, bouncing off the water and into the building. SageGlass controls these intensified rays, without compromising beautiful waterfront views.

Outfitted with antiques, fine furnishings and original artwork, the Pavilion boasts a significant investment in interior design. SageGlass helps protect this investment by mitigating the fading effects of the sun and preventing discoloration.
