A new sustainable “home of the future” being built by former “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” host Ty Pennington and NextGen TV will feature dynamic glass technology from SAGE to improve the way people experience daylight in the home.
SAGE is providing its patented SageGlass® dynamic glass for NextGen TV’s new online TV series “The First to the Future” home, which will showcase the latest in next-generation home building concepts.
Pennington –author, former Trading Spaces carpenterand host of the hit architecture show Extreme Makeover Home Edition – will host the series, chronicling every phase of the home’s evolution from design to construction to the final reveal. The home, designed by award-winning architect Mike Rosen, will feature green, sustainable, energy efficient and storm resistant construction technologies like SageGlass.

Construction of “The First to the Future” home will begin in Florida in Spring 2013 with the reveal in September 2013. SAGE will provide approximately 500 square feet of electrochromic glass to glaze the windows for the project. Pennington will take a “systems approach” to chronicling the project to give both building professionals and home buyers practical choices to consider for their next home.
