Body
The Alto Pont-Rouge office building is the fourth and final part of Geneva’s Esplanade de Pont-Rouge business district. The building offers a versatile and attractive range of offices, commercial spaces, restaurants, apartments and public buildings. Spread over 15 floors, the 28,000 m² (301,000 ft2) of space offer an innovative concept for modern working based on creative collaboration and a good work-life balance. But there's much more to the new facility than that.
- Designed to be highly energy-efficient, the buildings incorporated a geothermal heating and cooling system. The complex also boasts an efficient building shell and good indoor air quality. It is one of the first buildings in Geneva to receive SNBS 2.0 Gold certification, the new Swiss sustainable building standard.
- Swiss architectural firm brodbeck-roulet emphasized natural light for the office spaces. A well-lit atrium with an expansive skylight at the center of the building maximizes the amount of natural light. The Alto complex is also equipped with 7,500 m² of SageGlass Harmony® smart windows to block glare and heat, while maintainting views.
- The ESG goals of client Swiss Prime Site, coupled with the building's location overlooking the Lancy-Pont-Rouge railway station (hazardous goods traffic), necessitated an innovative solution for the façade glazing: SageGlass CONTRAFLAM glazing, which combines the benefits of solar protection from dynamic glass with fire protection from CONTRAFLAM glass.
- This unique glazing solution was the result of a collaboration between two Saint-Gobain companies, SageGlass & Vetrotech. The development lasted over two years from the initial needs assessment to project completion including an extensive period of internal and external testing.
