Raiffeisenbank Sion

The Challenge

As part of the expansion and renovation of its Sion Gare headquarters, Raiffeisen Bank wanted to thoroughly revamp the location to better meet the current needs of its customers, all while staying true to its values: local roots, sustainability, and quality of customer service. Designed entirely with regional partners, the project aimed to use natural materials to create warm and authentic spaces.

The Solution

The project extended the building to the north, creating a new reception area with a central service hub to facilitate movement. To the south, modular spaces were designed to host events and open the branch onto Avenue de la Gare. This comprehensive reconfiguration also made it possible to harmoniously connect two buildings of different architectural styles thanks to a completely redesigned entrance with polished mirror slats and a lighting fixture that evokes the interior of a melting glacier.

The reception area is now more visible from the outside and features local materials and carefully chosen finishes, including larch benches and partitions, Evolène stone furniture, and workspaces for quick consultations and various lounges, including one on the mezzanine with an outside view. The space offers a personalized, warm, and contemporary welcome experience. Works by regional artists complete this setting, further strengthening the space’s local identity.

To ensure a pleasant environment for work and meetings in all seasons, Raiffeisen selected SageGlass electrochromic glass. Thanks to its ability to automatically tint in response to sunlight without blocking the view, SageGlass continuously reduces solar gain and glare, and filters up to 97% of solar heat flux (solar factor of 0.03) without the need for external mechanical blinds.
